Community Building & Environmental Stewardship - Join us for an immersive MLK Day of Service focused on community building, environmental learning, and hands-on stewardship. This year’s program blends workshops, presentations, and volunteer activities designed to empower everyday leaders with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to create impact in their neighborhoods.
Together, we’ll reflect on EcoWorks’ progress and challenges, explore effective ways to communicate environmental issues, and participate in guided breakout discussions that connect ideas to real action. Participants will also learn native seed processing and winter sowing techniques and skills that can be used at home and contribute directly to restoration efforts as part of the service activities.
The day will also feature a native tree giveaway (while supplies last), youth activity table, and space to network, share ideas, and build partnerships that continue beyond this event. Student Service Learning hours (SSL) may be earned through the service activity portion of the day (2 hours).
Check out a presentation by Founding Director of Deeply Rooted Outdoor Education, Brianna Amingwa, at 10:15am!
